Why weight stalls are so frustrating and what we can do to shift them

Weight stalls while on HCG rate as the all time, most frustrating thing on the planet. And when HCG clients tell me about their stalls, I can feel how despondent they are, particularly when hey know they've been doing everything to the letter. I know how frustrating it is when the scales don’t shift, but think it is timely to remind everyone that Dr Simeons called it “pounds and inches”. You will be losing inches and the scales have to eventually move if you’re following The Protocol.

One of the things I often tell people (and it's something I recognise from my own experience) is that while HCG delivers excellent results, whatever it has been that tripped you up on previous dietary programs, will also trip you up here. If you did Weight Watchers and got incredibly frustrated when at your weekly weigh-in you weight had hardly decreased despite a week of religiously counting calories, then you'll feel that frustration just as acutely on The Protocol -it just happens in a condensed way because you're weighing yourself every day.

One thing we also know is that up to 70% of people carrying extra weight are emotional eaters. We're the ones who stuff down feelings with our food. For me, I used to do it before the feeling even got a chance to surface. So while I knew what I was doing, I didn't know why I was doing it.

I needed to do some personal growth work so I understood why I was over eating. For me, I chose EFT,(Emotional Freedom Technique) an acupressure based taping system.

I'll load a video log in the next couple of days, showing you how I do EFT and where it can be useful for helping to shift those stubborn weight stalls.

Another thing that is really important is working out why you'd actually like to lose weight in the first place. I've reached a space at the moment where I have lost a lot of weight and now can't find a reason for losing any more. Yes, I've got a number on the scales that I'd like to get to, but truth be told there's not much motivation for me to get there because basically it is just a number and I'm feeling really good physically. So for me, I have to find another reason for doing another round of HCG.

For those of you experiencing, or who experience weight stalls, I’d recommend you do some visualisation exercises, cut out some photos of someone whose body image you aspire to achieve and basically give your body permission to get to the weight that you want it to. Often there are things in our subconscious that block us from achieving our goal weight because even though consciously we want to get there, somewhere in our subconscious there is a “positive” for us continuing to hold the extra weight.

For me, carrying the extra weight meant I didn’t have to be an athlete – both my parents were top sports people; and despite me playing loads of sport, I never felt I measured up. So for me, being fat meant I couldn’t ever be an athlete, except perhaps a Sumo Wrestler! Sounds a bit weird but the subconscious doesn’t stop to work out whether it is logical, it can hold us physically in a pattern until we work out why we’d rather be fat and then come up with an alternative solution to get things moving.

Getting to the bottom of the emotional drivers behind our weight are as important as the weight loss itself; an if our weight stalls it is our bodies way or saying that what we're trying to achieve on the outside is different to what it's got lined up for itself on the inside.
